SRCD invites members of the developmental science community to submit proposals for Special Topic Meetings and Workshops for 2020. As with our past Special Topic Meetings, we anticipate supporting one or more small (250-500 attendees) meetings. New for 2020, we are also inviting proposals for focused workshops (50-75 attendees). Meetings and workshops can have topical or methodological foci broadly consistent with SRCD’s Strategic Goals.
This year, SRCD is experimenting with proposals developed within an online discussion forum.
- SRCD invites all those interested to post their ideas and solicit community feedback.
- Postings can range from simple expressions of interest to fully developed proposals. Note that contributing to the forum does not require a commitment to organize a meeting or workshop.
- Topics will be selected based on consistency with SRCD’s strategic goals, balance across topics, and availability of committed organizers. By opening the proposal process, we hope to encourage diversity in proposers and topics.
- How to join: Anyone can participate in the forum and submit a proposal. There are two ways to join the forum. The first is to be invited by a current forum participant. The second is to request an invitation from SRCD staff. Please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, including your full name and any institutional affiliation.
Ideally this will be a cooperative endeavor in which interested participants work together to craft great meetings.
Please visit forum.srcd.org for more information and to join the conversation.
