Tri-Caucus Webinar on March 1, 2019: Innovative and Mixed Methods in Understanding Development

TRI-CAUCUS

Webinar Description: Tri-Caucus scholars will be presenting on innovative research methods to study developmental processes of underrepresented or marginalized groups. Specifically, Drs. Bámaca-Colbert, Neblett, and Subrahmanyam will share their perspectives on the following questions: What are the different research questions that can be asked using this method that cannot be answered using traditional methods (i.e., what is the added value)?  What are some challenges of using this methodological approach?  How is this method important for understanding the development of children and youth from underrepresented and marginalized groups? What research training is required? What is one paper using this method that you would recommend?

Presenters:
Dr. Mayra Y. Bámaca-Colbert, The Pennsylvania State University

Dr. Enrique Neblett, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
Dr. Kaveri Subrahmanyam, California State University Los Angeles & Children’s Digital Media Center at Los Angeles
